Women's Health Care Council

The Women’s Health Care Council (WHCC) is comprised of individuals that have a strong interest in women’s health and the work done by the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ob/gyn) at Columbia University Irving Medical Center (CUIMC) to advance health care for women. Specifically, we assist the Columbia Department of ob/gyn in their efforts to advance clinical, research and educational endeavors at CUIMC – and on a national and global level.

We believe that women deserve the highest quality health care and that the Columbia Department of ob/gyn is a leader in advancing the state of health care for women. We find tremendous value in bringing together others who want to make lasting contributions to the field of obstetrics and gynecology and build awareness of this department’s reputation as a center of excellence and innovation.

Through regular meetings and public outreach, we serve as advocates, advisors and philanthropic ambassadors for the Columbia Department of ob/gyn.  The wide-ranging expertise and experience of our members makes us uniquely qualified to identify and support projects and initiatives that serve the strategic objectives of the department. We are often involved in developing plans to raise funds and build awareness for those targeted efforts.
